Take the Googly Eyes Challenge

Posted on October 3rd, 2016

Aimed at older children this game is perfect for a party of large family. Work in teams to make your way around the board and put your finest drawing to the test. However there is a hitch, you are up against the noisy timer and some wacky glasses that give you googly eyes designed to make your drawing tricky! With 3 different coloured filters each with increasing degrees of distortion, it is hilarious to watch the drawings develop and try to guess what they might be!  There is skill and luck involved, a good drawer or an imaginative thinker has an advantage, however if they land their counter on the blue filter then even an expert will be challenged!

What we thought about Googly Eyes

My triplets tried the game out here at Coombe Mill and thought it would make the perfect Christmas Day game with all the extended family. It can be played with up to 16 people in groups of 4 and we decided the more the merrier; that said my three played as solo teams and found it worked equally well.

Playing Googly Eyes

I have to give University games full marks on this one. It is a sure to be a real winner uniting families in some old fashioned fun and laughter with no modern gadgets needed.

Googly Eyes need to know facts:

  • 1 Game board
  • 1 pair of whacky Oversized Glasses
  • 3 sets of tinted interchangeable lenses
  • 4 plastic playing counters
  • 1 drawing pad
  • 1 pencil
  • 1 Die
  • 1 timer
  • 54 challenge cards with 162 challenges

4 – 16 players recommended. It can still be played with 2 or 3 players as individuals rather than teams.
