I have been lucky enough to be able to review the most delightful new children's story book "Ted Needs Some Space" from the amazing illustrator Tim Stead. If you haven't heard of his work before then do take a ganter over his web site. Tim is a family man living in Cumbria with is wife and 2 year old son. He has created 4 children's books, they are highly illustrative and light hearted and perfect for preschool and infant school aged children. The 1st of his books is now in print at his on line shop together with posters from the book. My copy is available for our holiday guests to borrow in our Coombe Mill reception library.
Tim also has very reasonable prices for a variety of commission work, he is doing some work for Coombe Mill and I am delighted with the results, a real talent just being discovered. Here is just a sneak preview of what he has created for me, anyone who knows the farm or is familiar with our web site will see just how well Tim has captured Coombe Mill.
About Ted Needs Some Space
This is a beautiful story of a Ted who is struggling for space amongst all the toys in a child's bed, he so wants some space, and so creates just that taking off into outer space. His wonderful adventure is marred by not having his friends to share in his excitement and so he returns happy to share his adventures and his bed with them again. I could relate to the story, as a couple of my children have struggled for bed space over the years amidst the pile of Teddies, and even now whilst no longer on the bed they still compete for space on the chair or shelf!
The book is currently on offer at £4.99, or £5.99 signed, including post and packing in the UK from Tim's online shop. You really can't go wrong for a stocking filler or a friend's birthday present. What's more, for every book purchased Tim is donating £1 to Chin Up a local charity in Cumbria providing respite care and breaks for families with a terminally ill child.
Clio my 8 year old book worm gave her Teddies the chance to hear the story:
You can read Tim's other books yourself on line at his web site.
