Country Kids from Coombe Mill

Away from the Farm!
Coombe Mill is only half an hour from Cornwall's famous Eden Project. We have annual tickets but never manage to go more than a couple of times a year. When we do make the effort I am always amazed by all the different activities on offer to ensure a family fun day out and come away wondering why we don't manage to use our tickets more often!
These dudes were supposed to greet us as we entered but it was their last day and I think they felt they had done with socializing for one year and were feeling as fed up as us with the drizzle!
Without doubt the real draw for my children is the ice skating rink. This is only open December to February, but at £6 for 40 minutes it is reasonable value and the children love it. The rest of the year the ice rink is a stage for concerts so the large open tent is always in use.
There is always something new to discover at Eden. This year the kids found another open tent set out with crafting activities board games and an area with bean bags. In the centre was a warming wood burner which was most welcome with the afternoon chill. I think the children spend a good hour in there, creating, playing and of course play fighting with the bean bags. When we finally left it was dark outside, and yes still drizzling!
Clio even made me my own special Thank you card there!
The Christmas lights were beautiful and the largest tree all lit in blue was so tall my children look like dots standing in front! It was such a happy afternoon we committed to another visit before the schools go back!
If you are staying with us before the end of February half term then I can thoroughly recommend a visit and a skate. We completely missed the usual outdoor play sections and the famous biomes, but it is so large I am happy to go with the flow and do a little each visit. This is not a sponsored post just somewhere we like to visit from Coombe Mill!
