New for 2016 a spacious and brightly decorated Games Room filled with activities for all the family.
Previously housed in the old tent we’ve given the full size ping pong table a new home in the Games Room. It is fully stocked with a selection of paddles and ping pong balls all free of charge to use and a perfect way to relax after an hour or two exploring the farm and a great way to burn off some energy if you’re back early from an afternoon of adventure. Many holiday friendships have been made through ping pong tournaments held in our games room. The Pool Table may be out of use at 4pm on a Friday for activity hour where it becomes our craft table. However whenever weather permits this takes place outdoors.
The games room also has a full size pool table with cues all ready to be used free of charge. This is a great way for kids to gain a feel for a game that they’re not usually allowed to experience due to age limitations in places where they might come across a table. Families have experienced lovely bonding moments here as the parents teach their kids how to play after spending an afternoon exploring Cornwall.
Another great addition to the games room is the Table Football. Again this is free of charge to use and is a firm family favourite. Many kids love challenging their new holiday friends to a game of table football and when teams are formed, their teamwork skills are put to the test.
At one end of the Games Room we have the borrow wall filled to the brim with games, books, toys and more to help keep younger ones entertained during the holiday. There are books for both adult and children there with many classics in both genres so you could find your holiday read whilst you look for your child’s bedtime story. You can find many of the classic family board games there as well as some child friendly puzzles from Orchard Toys and other new games we have reviewed over on the blog. There is also a small selection of DVD’s available to borrow with a range of both adult and family friendly movies and TV shows theses are always being updated with exciting new series and movies that you can take a look at on the blog too. Kids can either play with the toys and dressing up clothes here whilst their older siblings try their hand at one of the other activities or you can take them back to your holiday accommodation to enjoy at your leisure and return after.
At the other end of the room we have a giant chalk board with plenty of chalks to write names and messages and be creative.
On wet weather days the Games Room becomes home to our weekly activity hour, a great way to finish off a holiday usually making a keepsake to take home with them to remember their farm holiday.
We have a separate building for our indoor play barn. This barn is ideal all weather fun for age 5 and under. A safe, fully padded soft play area with safety netting for young children to enjoy climbing and chasing around, a slide to whiz down and little ball pit. Additionally parents will find the handy table and chairs make supervision comfortable as well as an area to enjoy a drink and a snack. For our tiny tots there is a highchair at the table and a little play tent too. If they still have enough energy there is a kiddy running machine in there to mirror the grown up one in the Coombe Mill Gym.
