I’ve been tagged by the lovely ladies Ruth and Loretta over at More Than A Mum to do their Mothers Day meme. Since I am enjoying a lovely Mothers Day here I thought I would share a few precious moments from my day too.
A lovely morning feed run with 3 of my children helping
Followed by a family pancake brunch with Farmer Nick in charge, OK I had to make the mixture!
Opening of lovely cards, homemade notes and farm picked flowers
So for the questions:
Describe Motherhood in three words.
amazing, rewarding, trying
Does your experience differ from your Mother’s – how?
Oh so different, she had me, we have 6, how different can we be. However we were both working Mums and we are giving our children quite an old fashioned upbringing here on the farm, so some aspects are not so different.
What’s the hardest thing about being a mum?
Finding enough time for each of my children
What’s the best thing?
Those proud moments when they do something simple but special that makes you melt.
How has it changed you?
Motherhood has made me more tolerant and less selfish, the world doesn’t revolve around me anymore, it revolves around them.
What do you hope for your children?
I can’t add to what Ruth and Loretta say here so I shall just repeat their wish “That they grow up to be happy, well-rounded adults. And that they will always have the courage to follow their dreams.”
What do you fear for them?
That someone or something will hurt them mentally or physically. Nasty words, car accidents, sport mishap, the usual threats in life. As a mother I do my best to prepare my children for any eventuality, but I know there will be hurt at some time in some form and I hope they will cope and learn from that experience.
What makes it all worthwhile?
Every day that they go to bed happy and content with life.
How was your Mother’s Day?
I now tag the following to reflect on their day and answer the questions from More Than A Mum
Tania Sullivan as she too has lots of Children and I would love to hear about her day and answers
