This year’s Prestigious Mad Blog Awards received a huge 200,000 votes for 5000 blogs. To find myself nominated amongst the finalists is overwhelming. I am so honoured to have received enough votes to be going to the big event itself in September. Thank you so much for making this happen for me. As a winner last year I have been living off the memories of the evening ever since. I’ve copied the fun at my own parties worn my lovely Boden Dress at every opportunity, have my winning trophy on display in the Coombe Mill reception and been unable to prevent a fond smile from creeping across my face every time I see this photo whirling round the MADs website.
Yet here I am again seeing my name up as a finalist for Family Fun. I had to check at least ten times before I told anyone in the house just in case it was a mistake. However the support on twitter reassured me it was true. I am thrilled beyond belief to think that my tales from the farm, where work and pleasure merge in family life and our family days out have appealed to so many. My children and Farmer Nick are the stars of my blog and I’m lucky to have their support, they are all thrilled to discover our lifestyle has put us in the finals again.
I know that the MADS evening in September is going to be the most amazing night again thanks to the hard work that Sally and the team put in behind the scenes. The finalist list is made up of some truly brilliant blogs across the 15 categories. I am delighted to see plenty of my favourite bloggers who I have come to know over the years and a good mix of new blogs too, I’m looking forward to seeing you all in September. Well done to all the 6000 blogs nominated this year, a record and a credit to the MADS success and that of parent bloggers.
Please take some time to consider all the finalists before voting for your favourites. I would be bursting with pride to see the Coombe Mill Blog up on that winning board again for Family Fun and explode with another ‘over the top’ grin for sure. However daring to dream is a dangerous thing, so for now I’ll just say please do vote and make someone’s night. Good luck to each and every finalist.
