Pre-schoolers will love the charm of the classic kiddie character Miffy, who is having a big make over for her 60th Birthday and reaching out to a modern generation of young fans. Birthday celebrations include the launch of a major new TV series on Tiny Pop TV called Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small which can found on Free view 126, Sky 617,Virgin Media 737 and Free sat 605.
Featuring the iconic white bunny from the storybooks by Dick Bruna, the new series marks the first time Miffy has been seen in Computer Generated Imagery. The series comprises 52, seven minute long episodes which see Miffy and her friends exploring the exciting world around her. Simple narrative and fun songs ensure even the youngest children stay engaged throughout. All the original books have recently been updated with refreshed texts by award-winning British poet Tony Mitton, and Miffy the Movie launched on iTunes and Google Play on 23 June.
Using Dick Bruna’s distinctive palate of bright primary colours and simple shapes, combined with plenty of space around them for a child’s imagination to roam, ‘Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small’encapsulates the essence of Bruna’s classic books whilst bringing his characters to life on screen.
Miffy’s new serieswill become a key part of Tiny Pop’s evening block, Cuddle Time, which features gentle programming allowing kids, mums and dads to enjoy calmer family favourites before bedtime. Tiny Pop has the strongest evening viewing figures in the kids’ category, from 7pm-midnight and will broadcast Mike the Knight, My Little Pony and Miffy from October as part of their autumn schedule.
In support of the relaunch of Miffy we have a delightful cuddly Miffy taking her own adventures here on the farm. Miffy has been seen making friends with the Coombe Mill bunnies and dancing with the fairies in our Fairy Gardens.
It wasn’t long before our little farm helpers wanted to bring Miffy on a full farm adventure too. Miffy has had a lovely time with the children out on the farm, though she needed a bit of a hand wash after her animal encounters. she will now make an appearance in one of our many cottage playrooms. With buttons to press to play the Miffy tune and identify body parts like hand, mouth and foot as you press them; Miffy the toy is educational as well as fun.
