The book that delivers a sleepy child

Posted on February 1st, 2016

If you have a little one who wants to jump up and play when you want them to settle down to sleep bedtime can become a battle ground. A bedtime story can help no end, a soothing tale, an adventure to capture their imagination, but when one story leads to another, you’re needed elsewhere and still your toddler is waiting for another story, tension can build. I remember so well skipping pages myself only to be caught out by my children who actually knew the story better than me, or passing the task to Grandpa who finished up with them more lively than before he began!

Grandpa Reading the bedtime Story

What if there was another way, a book with special powers to induce sleep in your child.  Rory Z Fulcher and Dr Kate Beaven-Marks feel they have developed a book that really can help do this based on hypnotherapy.  When Rory contacted me I was intrigued to find out more about the book and techniques used.

The book works using special, sleep-inducing language patterns that help children to relax and feel tired, whilst keeping them engaged with a wonderful story and lovable characters, however the book can’t do it all, it does require the reader to use a relaxing delivery for the simple repetition pausing in the right places to aid understanding and promote restfulness for the child.

Rory explained ” “Dr Kate and myself not only have 20+ years of hypnotherapy experience between us, but we’re confident to admit that our methods are some of the very best in the industry, and are highly effective for both adults and children alike, It’s not exactly common knowledge among parents, but the fact is; children respond really well to hypnotic techniques, and they respond especially well to hypnotic stories. So we decided to help parents by creating a bedtime story that helps children drift off to sleep quickly, easily and in a relaxing, loving way that works for everyone involved!”

I decided to put the book to the ultimate test and had a copy sent to my niece to try out on her almost 2 year old daughter.

Reading the Book

“We have read the story and she loves it”. As an adult reader my niece found the hypnotherapy phrases slightly distracting from the story but the book did the job as my niece announced “she slept through!”
