Here at Coombe Mill we are proud to have just completed our games room for older kids. It was converted from some old lodges and makes a great open space for Ping pong, table football and Pool. It even has a chalk board for keeping scores and for me to use in Activity Hour. In my mind the only things missing are darts and air hockey.
Air Hockey comes to Coombe Mill
Or should I say were missing. We now have air hockey too thanks to the wonderful folk at Prezzybox. For an amazing £9.95 Prezzybox have an air hockey game that can be set up at home on virtually any work surface in minutes. It just needs two AAA batteries for the all important hover piece in the middle and you are ready to go. We put our one though its paces with the triplets and their friend. They began on an old 4 seat dining table and there was considerable shouting and cheering at every goal. Never underestimate the competitive edge the game elicits. However due to their poor aim they did find the hover ball was shooting off onto the floor quite often.
They relocated to the ping pong table and played width ways across this with more success. Here they had the net on one side to keep things in play and the challenge continued.
The easy suction pads on the goals are perfect for moving around from one surface to another without leaving marks and the hand held pushers have felt backs so as not to mark your table too. It all comes in a handy little box making it perfect as a present, for packing up and taking with you on holiday, days out visiting friends, or just for easy storage at home when the dining table is needed for meal times.
We have left our air hockey set up on the little dining table in the games room but I can see it getting moved around to suit the needs of those playing. There could be some serious championship games ahead now our summer season is underway.
