Who doesn’t love a good storybook? The Disney Movie collection ticks all the boxes for encouraging children to enjoy books from an early age. Based on the films they are so famous for, the storybook collection follows the same popular tale in shortened form. Words are kept simple enough for age 7+ to be able to read themselves with help, while the beautiful illustrations will keep younger children hooked while the story is read.
Frozen and The Jungle Book
We had Frozen and The Jungle book our here during our activity hour sessions. The children were delighted to pick them up and begin reading. I watched with interest as favourite characters were pointed out and more children gathered round to listen.
Clio helped a lovely seven year old who wanted to read Jungle Book for herself. With help on a few tricky words, they soon had the story flowing.
The books inspired the children so much we began making bookmarks using our Duck Tape Colours. We even had a Frozen patterned one ready to go. It was a lovely exercise and a good introduction to how to hold your place in a book when you stop reading. Our Books and bookmarks went off with the children waiting to be finished in the comfort of their cottages later that evening.
