What an absolute gem of a find
What an absolute gem of a find! We went with four adults and two toddlers, and every one of us loved it. The lodge was great; clean, spacious and perfect for little ones. The farm itself was also great for the kids. Play areas, play rooms and the tractor feed were just brilliant. Both owners were really accommodating, and welcoming, and we loved it so much that we will be looking to book again.

Our wonderful 4 days at Coombe Mill
We came to Coombe Mill last week and had a wonderful time. The lodge was fully equipped with everything you could ask for and more. I would highly recommend especially with children, they would love the farm and being able to feed the animals. We can’t wait too come back.

Birthday celebrations on the farm
We had a wonderful week celebrating our little ones 2nd birthday on the farm. Such a lovely place to make family memories. Lots to keep the little ones entertained. Such well equipped lodges for both entertainment and cooking. The farm animals and daily feeding was the highlight and loved by young and old!!!
Would highly recommend to all.

Fantastic short break for young children
I stayed at Coombe Mill for 4 nights, with my husband and our sons aged 3 and 18 months. It was easily the best holiday we’ve had as a family of four and my 3 year old is already asking when we will go back – I think the answer will have to be soon!
There was just so much for young children to do, from the playroom in our lodge, to the soft play barn and games room, to the playground and mud kitchen outside. There are toys everywhere!
The biggest highlight was meeting the farm animals and the guinea pigs, and riding in the tractor to feed them all every morning. All this meant our children were never bored and were tired every evening, which we’ve learned is really the key to a successful family holiday.
Anya and Emma were very welcoming, and were really good with the children as well. The facilities were all clean and the photos on the website were a good reflection of how the site is currently.
I had two minor tips/criticisms but these really are very minor and didn’t detract from the overall experience. Firstly, one of the plastic toys in the playroom was broken with a sharp piece of plastic sticking out. There were plenty of other toys in good condition, so this could have been thrown away. Secondly, the cot mattress was very hard and topped with a waterproof topper. I understand that this would have been for safety reasons as the cot could be used for young babies as well as toddlers, but my one year old did find it hard to settle there. By contrast the adult beds were incredibly comfortable!
Overall, we had a wonderful time and we felt we got good value for our money, in comparison with some other farm stay holidays we looked at. We definitely hope to return, maybe for longer next time.

What a lovely place
What a lovely place! The farm rides in the morning were great for both the adults and children, so hands-on and informative! We loved the bbq hut, the free loan of fishing equipment and wetsuits and wellies! Our older teens loved the gym and said the equipment was good 👍 lodges clean and everything you need! 1 tiny would like…. a coffee pod machine …. missed ours.. we visited the local pub twice for food, and lots of beaches, loads to do locally ( all within 30 mins roughly) thanks Enya and Emma keep up the good work!

Brilliant Family Holiday
We had such a good holiday.
The lodge was spotless and very comfy. It was nice not having to bring too much. The lodge had everything we needed. During our stay there was a fault in the bathroom which which was repaired asap. So impressed with how you dealt with that. The location is beautifull and so peaceful the only sound being the sound of river and wildlife. The highlight of the week was the Farm Club our children could not have been happier even in the rain. This holiday provided a lot of value for the money and as we have stayed in similarly priced places we really appreciated all the facilities. We will be back for sure

A special place
Coombe Mill was the perfect place to have quality family time with our one year old grandson and his parents. Despite the rain we managed to explore the farm and were delighted to see the deer in the field. Our grandson loved the tractor ride and enjoyed feeding the animals. Coombe Mill is perfect for children to be children, allowing them to explore and have fun. Our lodge had everything we needed and the upstairs playroom was perfect for our grandson. Emma and Anya are doing a great job of keeping the magical spirit of the place alive. I was chatting to a 10 year old on his sixth visit, he recommended I keep taking my grandson each year as it will get better and better as he gets older, I fully agreed with him. We will definitely return, hopefully with more of our grandchildren to let them explore this special place.

Great welcome and stay
We were made really welcome by Anya and Emma on this our second stay. Lots to do for the little ones, and the morning tractor rides to feed the animals were a real joy. Hoping to come back again next year!

Idyllic location
Idyllic location, beautiful log cabin with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Coombe Mill is a magical place. Our children, aged 12 and 10, were spellbound. They spent time playing by the stream, visiting the animals and absorbed in the surroundings. We joined the animal feed runs each day which were informative and endearing. The children were safe and happy exploring and playing on the grounds.
Our holiday was a great opportunity to disconnect and get back to nature, (although it’s worth saying that I could get enough Wi-Fi for essential work).
It was also a great base for exploring Cornwall, and a visit to Tintagel Castle comes highly recommended.
Anya and Emma are wonderful owners. They cared about our experience and made sure we had everything we needed to ensure the whole family were happy.
Overall we had a fabulous time and will visit again. I think it is a fantastic location for families, for groups of friends or for multiple families across ages.

Amazing find!
We absolutely loved everything about this place. We even booked to go back before we left! Anya was so welcoming and made the animal experience each morning a lot of fun. The place is perfect for families and there’s so much to do, come rain or shine. The lodges are incredibly clean and have everything you need for your holiday. It felt like home! Would highly recommend to everyone!

Fantastic family getaway
We have just had a lovely weekend away as a family and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We took our children aged 5, 9, 12, 15 & 16 and they all had so much fun exploring the site and using the facilities. The animal run and trailor ride was a great way to start the day, Emma & Anya were great guides .The accommodation was perfect for our needs, the air hockey table in the childrens bedroom was a particular hit!
So much to do in the area, just wished we could have stayed longer. Coombe Mill is magical! Will definitely be returning soon.

Book now … you won’t be disappointed!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! I cannot recommend Coombe Mill highly enough. Anya and Emma are fabulous hosts and everything about our holiday was first class. The accommodation (Heligan) was spotlessly clean, spacious and well-equipped; it really was a ‘home from home’. The morning jaunts on the little tractor to feed the animal was a highlight for our boys, who seemed to spend more time in the Guinea pig house than in our lodge! In the evening, the games room was a must, for a game of table tennis or pool, or even as a precursor for an indoor barbecue in the little ‘elf house’. The surroundings are idyllic: quiet, peaceful and relaxing; the dogs particularly enjoyed jumping in the river than runs through the grounds.
Coombe Mill is ideally located, within east travelling distance to The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, or the many quaint seaside villages, such as Padstow, Port Isaac, or Mevagissey. An hour in the car takes you to lovely St Ives and Land’s End.
Our week passed far too quickly, but it is safe to say that Mum Dad, Granny, three boys and two dogs had a whale of a time. We will be back! Thank you Emma and Anya for sharing your wonderful home.

Coombe Mill log cabins…
At this time of year this is our ideal holiday. Anya and Emma always makes you feel welcome. We uses a log cabin which sleeps 4. There Pleanty’s of room in there it’s always clean and the main bedroom has a en-suite. Theres a shower in the en-suite which is excellent. The cooking area has a fridge freezer washing machine and a dishwasher. We enjoy going there as it’s very quite lovely walks plus animals. I would only go there when it’s not school holidays
There’s a pub about 2 miles away. The atmosphere in there is brilliant and food excellent. I personally will go back there next year.

Wow what a beautiful place!
Wow what a beautiful place! We will certainly be back. The daily tractor rides and feeding the animals each day, to the pizza oven and the BBQ hut. The guinea pigs were a firm favourite along with the fairy garden and the zip line. A fantastic week and many special memories made. A big thank you to Anya and Emma for an amazing week and for making us feel so welcome.

Really special experience to stay here. We’re a family of three with a 2 year old that went with friends and it was perfect for us at this time and can see us going again for many years. Incredible choice of facilities there, inside and out, kids loved the play areas and the grown ups loved the bbq hut! The daily farm trips were wonderful. The two ladies that run the place are really friendly and great with the children. The lodges were really spacious and comfortable and even filled with toys already! Was good to have a fire in the evening to warn the lodge. Location is great for lots of lovely beaches, towns, and Camel Trail cycle track all within half an hour. Would really recommend.

We were a mixed age family group of 12 people from 10 weeks to 94 years and had 2 lodges – bit of a gamble, but wow, we had an amazing time. Beautifully equipped lodges, really comfortable beds and every amenity on site that we could think of! We had such a good time, from great fishing in the lakes to making pizzas in the pizza oven and going round the farm with the little ones to feed the animals.
We were made to feel so welcome by Anya and Emma and their children, who always had time to play, chat and listen, and I loved it that they were so evidently exploring and enjoying the area too.
A fantastic find, but a little nervous of telling everyone because we don’t want it to change or get too busy! WE will be back.

Truly amazing place. We had the best time at Coombe Mill. Anya could not be more helpful. The lodges are beautiful and have everything you need and more. There were toys in our lodge which my nephew was so excited over and played with them for hours. The play area, bbq area were right by our lodge so we could keep an eye on him very easily. There is also an indoor soft play, games room and gym for those rainy days. Because there are only a few lodges of us a lovely atmosphere and not over crowded. We loved walking the huge grounds with the dogs and my nephew still wears his hat he received from helping the one morning!!! We will definitely be back. Cannot recommend this place enough.

We have been coming to Coombe Mill now for 10 years. It’s our favourite hideaway in what is becoming a very busy Cornwall.
The best bit is that it has just got better!
Anya and Emma have taken the reins from Nick and Fiona and the farm has a new lease of life.
The Scandinavian lodges are getting a refresh with better WiFi, a good lick of paint and new furniture. So is the farm generally, with small changes here and there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in August and can’t wait to come back. Only 6 weeks until we return!

A rare gem in a magnificent setting sums up this remarkable place. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, look no further. Coombe Mill is it! But if you’re looking for plenty to do, especially for children you’ll also find it here.
The comfortable -especially the king sized beds!- well equipped lodges with every amenity are only a stones throw away from the beautiful River Camel. Cross the river and there are two lakes and a farm with alpacas, ponies, deer, goats, sheep, pigs, hens, geese etc.
All need feeding and for grown ups and children alike, the morning tractor ride and feed run, led by the friendly farmers, Emma or Anya, was a real highlight and a repeated joy. We thoroughly enjoyed the hands on experience and visiting the hen house and collecting eggs for breakfast was something very special.
Emma and Anya are new owners and perfect hosts with their three children. Nothing appears too much trouble and it looks as though they are making continual improvements to the holiday experience with the games room and gym completely refurbished and re-equipped.
It all added up to a great holiday. It was our first visit which we enjoyed so much, it certainly won’t be our last!

Emma and anya and the kids made us feel right at home, Coombe Mill is in a beautiful county side in Cornwall, the lodge was clean and had everything we needed and even the our mini dachounds had treats and dog water bowl ready in the lodge which was a lovely thing and your own garden for dogs with the lodge ,but one of the dogs got out the garden so might need to put something around the bottom of fence to stop little dogs getting out ,the logdes are right near the beautiful river and farm ,and lakes ,my grandad Keith went fishing and catch lots of beautiful fish and enjoyed him self,I loved the animal free run in morning at 9am with farmer Emma or farmer Anya ,you get to be hands on the with animals to feed them ,there is pigs, sheep ,goats chickens ducks ,geese ,guinea foul ,ponies, alpacas deer and guinea pigs, and you can walk round and see the farm animals on your own ,and also I even came home with two beautiful guinea pigs which Emma and Anya let me have two and the kids millie, Sam,siena help me choose ,I will definitely recommend Coombe Mill to my family and friends and customers, and we will definitely book a hoilday In the future

Everything about Coombe Mill is set up as family friendly, including built in stair gates and full laundry facilities in chalets. We have twins and two cots and highchairs were set up for our arrival.
Anya and Emma are so approachable and friendly and really made the stay personal. We did daily animal feed trips and the patience they showed with our one year olds in helping them learn to stroke animals and pick up feed was amazing. We even got fresh eggs!
We’re planning on coming back again on a regular basis as it’s a great location for exploring Cornwall and has so much to offer on site.

This was our fourth visit to Coombe Mill and even so, the new owners, Anya and Emma, managed to exceed all our expectations.
We first visited when our children were one and now they are eight, there are still so many things for them to enjoy, from the feed run, to splashing in the river, expending some energy on the trampoline and bonding with other children – including Emma and Anya’s three children.
Anya and Emma are incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make sure a particular request we had was met. They have been gradually working their way around the farm, upgrading the facilities, which to be honest had been getting rather dated and run down. They’ve removed the £1 electricity meters and towels are also now included. The games room is newly refurbished and I had the honour of being the first guest to use the lovely new gym.
The kitchens are well equipped if you want to cook – but there’s so many places to eat out or pick up a takeaway nearby too. Peckish for fish & chips should not be missed, and the cakes at the Snail’s Pace Cafe are to die for.
There’s lots of beaches nearby and the Camel Trail is a great route for cycling with kids.
We’ll be back for our fifth visit!

This is a truly remarkable place and location. We first came here with our children when they were around 4 and 8 in the 1990s and came back with them annually yearly after that about 3 times. We have now just visited again with our daughter and our grandchild (aged 2). The place retains the same magic but with much upgraded lodges. Granddaughter loved it (as did we all).
Just as an example of the exceptional service, DVD player (occasional distraction for granddaughter) was not working properly. We informed Emma and within a couple of hours, she had got a new one from town.
Highly recommended

Really enjoyed our stay at Coombe mill. The surroundings are beautiful and great to feed the animals with farmer Emma. The games room was a godsend on rainy days and really well equipped. Having toys in the attic of the lodge was a great idea and kept my son very happy. Lovely hosts too. My only quibble is the dining room chairs were not comfy as the legs were loose. Kitchen could have done with more worktop for cooking too. Other than that great holiday and loved the super king bed!

Fantastic location in the middle of nature, surrounded by animals, a brook and very welcoming owners.
Kids can feed the animals in the morning after a tractor ride around the site.
Families can easily explore the area, going to north and south Cornwall in little time.
Lodges are very spacious, clean and equipped with a log burner. Equipment in lodges is a bit outdated but all is working well.
My only recommendation would be to sign post the car entrance to the lodges a bit better.
