Here at Coombe Mill we try to be as green as we possibly can and provide a luxury eco friendly holiday experience for all who visit without compromising on creature comforts. We are blessed with the most beautiful valley on the edge of a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It is our aim to be sympathetic to the environment in all we do whilst using nature to our advantage where possible.
Not much goes to waste at Coombe Mill. We have recycling points around the properties Mill for your convenience all labeled up with what they take. There are also general waste bins although we encourage all our guests to save their vegetable scraps for our animals and bring them on the tractor rides in the mornings.
The water coming through the taps in your property is all fresh mountain water from the Coombe hills. We are not on mains water but instead have our own water treatment plant on site and the mountain water goes from here straight to your tap. No need to bring bottled water, though you may want some empties to take ours home!
All our most recent properties have solar panels on the roof for heating the hot water. These include Trebah, Trevarno and Polzeath. Most of the year on bright days this will provide adequate supplies for your daily requirements, however there is an emersion boost for those less than perfect days or when consumption exceeds production.
These are located around the grounds and kept pilled with logs for the wood burning stoves and BBQs. Use of the wood for the wood burner is charged at £20 for the week. It is free to use on the BBQ for fun eco friendly holiday cooking.
