Kids will love the farm fun at Coombe Mill. Acres to explore with friendly farm animals all year round.
Join the Sunday Morning Tractor ride at 9am, meet Farmer Nick and the other children staying and enroll into the Little Helpers Club. Designed for Children age 18 months – 10 years, you will receive a free little helper’s peak cap to match Farmer Nick and be encouraged to help out each morning with the farm chores from feeding the animals to helping drive the tractor. Older children always welcome, watch out though as you may be expected to do more! The morning ‘feed run’ is packed with farm fun and wonderful chance to meet other families staying at Coombe Mill. Many families regularly return to Coombe Mill on the same week each year to pick up on established friendships.
The wide range of child friendly animals makes the feed run so interesting and educational. Ponies, fallow deer, alpacas, lovable miniature donkeys, Saddle back pigs, Jacobs sheep, pigmy goats, a wallaby and peahen, chickens, guinea fowl, ducks and the most popular of all the rabbits. The tractor rides for the children to feed the animals run all year round with Farmer Nick and Amber on hand to answer all your questions. Come in spring and see new born babies, in the summer help bottle feeding any orphans, book September for piglets and in winter receive a warm welcome from all the animals on those frosty mornings! Check out our seasonal animal births in more detail here
The animals welcome visits throughout the day. Guests staying are free to wander responsibly round the farm enjoying farm fun and the animals in their own pace.
Farmer Nick and Amber will be encouraging the children to grow in confidence with the animals all week. All participating children have their own signed certificate from the Farmers as thanks for being one of their ‘little helpers’. Simply sign up to the Farmer Nick’s Little Helpers Sheet in reception on arrival and we’ll know we have names ready with correct spelling; every child is special here and all are acknowledged.
