Family farm holidays in Cornwall magical for children, toddlers and babies.
The memories of a Coombe Mill Holiday will stay with you for a lifetime and many of our visitors tell us that one visit is never enough. Part of the unique experience of our holidays is the chance to explore and learn through play and participation, having great fun at the same time.
“My son was terrified of animals until we came to Coombe Mill, now they are all he talks about! Not only has he got over his fear but his interest has been engaged – he is doing mini-projects, drawings and research in his spare time. It’s so nice to see him away from a screen!” said Euan’s mum Heather McAvan.
Our morning tractor and trailer feed run led by Farmer Nick is truly hands on for all ages. The children will learn about farm safety, the welfare of the animals, their diets, habitats, life cycles and so much more. Even better, this links directly to what children are learning at school for Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
If you’re keen to consolidate and extend on these learning possibilities at Coombe Mill, we’ve teamed up with twinkl to bring you some bright, colourful and engaging printable resources to keep the memories of your visit alive. Created by teachers, these resources will give your child the opportunity to follow their interests in Science, Geography, PSHE and more – no need to print off everything, just choose what you think is suitable for your child and bring with you. Best of all, these resources have been created to link specifically with the Department for Education’s “Letters and Sounds” programme as well as the 2014 National Curriculum.
